"Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle;
be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.

The word "catechesis" comes from the Late Latin word katēchēsis, which comes from the Greek word katēchein which means "to teach". Catechesis is a form of religious instruction that teaches the basics of the Christian faith. Catechesis is a life-long process of initial conversion, formation, education, and on-going conversion. It seeks to lead people to an ever deepening relationship with God. Catechesis shares certain features with Bible study, adult education, RCIA, or other forms of discipleship.

This portion of the website is in response to the call of the Dogmatic Constitution on Divine Revelation that "access to sacred Scripture ought to be open wide to the Christian faithful" (Dei Verbum 22).

The Bible, "Sacred Scripture" - Old and New Testaments - is a collection of religious texts or scriptures which are held to be sacred in Christianity. The Bible is an anthology, a compilation of texts of a variety of forms, originally written in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. These texts include instructions, stories, poetry, prophecies, and other genres. The collection of materials that are accepted as part of the Bible is called the "biblical canon". Believers in the Bible, Sacred Scripture consider it to be a product of divine inspiration. The Christian Bible canon contains 72 books.

Bible Commentaries, Dictionaries, & Concordances.
An important note regarding "Bible Commentaries" is that commentaries take front seat in & with catechesis, which is the primary role for the Biblical Commentary text -- to teach (catechesis).
